Welcome to Orchestra Fun Facts!

This is a place where we will explore concepts of orchestra performance as well as some of the latest trends in musical performance and education.

To the left and below, you will find links to seven different pages. On each page there are specific questions to answer or instructions for research that you must complete.

For full marks, add something to each page as follows:

Research pages: (6 marks each page)

Beethoven, Egmont Overture

Capuzzi, Bass Concerto

Handel, Zadok the Priest

• Add a BRIEF new element of research to these pages that has not already been covered by someone else (the earlier you submit, the more options you have!).
• Use your OWN WORDS!
• Cite your sources: they may be published books, articles or web documents. Use correct MLA bibliographical format.
• Your research must include THREE brief points that are relevant to the topic on each page. You can include definitions, historical fact, researched quotes on performance practice. Your information should not be lengthy.
• Include ONE of any relevant links, photos, videos, recordings for comparison OR include your own opinion about the topic (or video/recording attached).

Rules and Deadlines:

Deadline for ALL entries: Friday, May 8th (11:59pm)

After this date, all pages will be locked and you won't be able to continue contributing.

Total marks: 24

Please only edit your own entries. Do not delete or modify anyone else's work... all changes are monitored!

Any changes to other students' work will result in a zero.

The points you add on each page only need to be brief, BUT.... you can't repeat what anyone else has already added. In other words, the sooner you add to any page, the easier the assignment!
